The Missing Link
Diane Pollack
Everyone has different needs and wants in dressing, some people like to layer and be cozy and others can't stand all the bulk, so take away what works for you.
You want to be ready when the cold weather hits, so let's talk about an area of your wardrobe that often gets neglected. The basics. No, not wardrobe staples like jeans, black pants, cardi etc.
For me, one of the staples of my wardrobe is the cotton based under tank/cami.
I wear them with
- Sheer tops
- Tops that slide off your shoulder - a la Flashdance
- Boxy tops, when it is cool out & the cool fall breeze goes under my shirt
- Peeking out of a shorter top (for length & for style)
When it gets really cold out, I switch to the long sleeve tees.
- This adds a layer of warmth
- Adds a soft fabric next to your skin
- Absorbs sweat & can easily be thrown into the wash
- Adds sleeve length and warmth if your top is a vest or cropped sleeve length
Others of you may tend toward long underwear for the full-on body warmth. Uniqlo makes a whole line with heat trapping capabilities.
Don't forget to think about your socks. It is going to be boot weather and your bare ankles may need some coverage. Do your old socks have holes in them? Would you be embarrassed if you went to someone's house and had to take off your shoes? Don't forget the little things.
And of course, underwear and bras are a staples that get old and stretched out and need to be replaced.
Now let's discuss the next level of basics. Loungewear & activewear, many in the new vein of "athleisure" can be dressed up to be workwear. So you can look cute lounging around your apartment, while doing errands or comfy while working.
This month I am partnering with Peach to bring you a fantastic line of basics, plus some additional goodies. Click HERE to check out the line.
Of course you can order directly. If you would like to find out more about this fabulous line, have sizing questions or see samples, please hit reply and I will connect you with someone who can answer all your questions.
