What is Hot for Spring 2025

Diane Pollack

The biggest buzz in fashion for Spring this year is Maximalism and true personal style. After seasons of Quiet Luxury reigning supreme, the pendulum is swinging in the opposite direction.

So, what does that mean if you’re a Quiet Luxury kind of person? Are you suddenly out of style? Absolutely not! Personal style always prevails. The difference now is that many trending pieces have a bold influence, some channeling the 20’s and 80’s. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of timeless, classic pieces that remain effortlessly chic.

As your stylist, I’m here to guide you through what’s trending so you can decide what, if any, of these items you want to incorporate into your wardrobe. And remember, as I always say: “Trends are suggestions, not mandates.”

GENERAL VIBES & SILHOUETTES
Maximalism is leading the charge, but there’s also a strong presence of classic nautical, collegiate, and preppy styles. Oversized silhouettes remain popular, alongside tailored blazers cinched at the waist. And yes,the power suit is making a fierce comeback.

Let’s not forget about Boho influences which can be both casual and romantic. Speaking of romance, feminine styles and touches prevail including lingerie styles, airy sheer fabrics, and bows.

ON THE TOP

  • Funnel-neck and collarless jackets

  • Windbreakers & track jackets (often mixed with dressier bottoms, but don’t try this at home if you are not an expert)

  • Moto jackets, which I love for spring in lighter colors. These will keep you warm while looking spring-like

  • Vests & peplums

  • Polos collared shirts and other preppy collegiate styles like rugby stripes and tipping

ON THE BOTTOM

  • Knee-length skirts join the lineup, with all other skirt lengths still going strong

  • Asymmetrical hemlines and flowy fabrics are perfect for the season

  • Bubble skirts, dresses, and shorts (aka bloomers) add fun for maximalists

  • Dresses also go from empire to drop-waist styles

  • Traditionalists can opt for box pleats or A-line skirts

  • Capris are still trying to make their way in and long wide (aka Bermuda) cut-offs are for the super cool. If you are like me, you will be wearing them with heeled sandals for that elevated casual look.

  • Flared jeans are having a major moment, while wide-leg, barrel, straight-leg, and yes, skinny jeans—are back on the radar (more on that later!)

FABRICS

Think flowy, glitzy, and metallic. Feminine details like lace, texture, and crochet are also big this season.

 PRINTS

Classic stripes and polka dots remain strong. For animal print lovers, leopard is still in and zebra and cow prints are now joining the zoo.

COLORS

  • If bold is your thing, go for Yves Klein blue or other vibrant pops of color

  • Prefer something softer? Pastels feel fresh, with butter yellow and pale pink leading the way, followed closely by mint and lavender

SHOES

  • The Mary Jane trend continues, now with T-strap variations

  • Ballet flats are still in, some now featuring square toes

  • The newest shoe of the season? The peep-toe

  • Chunky sneakers remain strong, but sleek retro styles are emerging

  • Gladiator and caged sandals are abundant

  • Slippers as shoes? Yes.

  • And for that maximalist and often edgy touch, add some chunky hardware to your shoes. Tory Burch has started a trend for pierced hardware on shoes and bags.

  • Patent leather is always a spring staple, but this year, it’s having an even bigger moment

  • Also trending: clogs, heeled thongs, platforms, and loafers

BAGS

  • Looking for a new shape? Try an East/West bag or a structured doctor’s bag

  • Oversized clutches and slouchy bags continue to trend

  • Woven bags and shoes are hot, thanks to Bottega Veneta’s influence

ACCESSORIES

  • Belts are back—layer them if you dare

  • Bag charms add a personalized touch

  • Get ready for statement jewelry and bold sunglasses

And don’t worry most trends are not one-trick poneys, so check out some of the styles that continue from last year.

Spring fashion is all about self-expression. Whether you embrace maximalism, stick to timeless classics, or mix both, the key is to make it your own. So, what will you try this season? Need help deciding? You know you can always contact me.
